Akademie der Klassik Salzburg
Founded in 2002 by Tibor Bényi in Salzburg, the “Akademie der Klassik” has developed into a cultural center in the city of Salzburg.
It is our aim to impart an approach towards music to young and talented instrumentalists in order to suit our requirements—our profession should be perceived as our calling. Therefore, we teach knowledge and understanding of century-old traditions and cultures to the future generation who typically reacts to art aesthetics in a skeptical manner. Lively concert activity has led the musicians around the globe into the most beautiful concert halls in the world… not to be compared with the “Golden Hall” on Hohensalzburg Fortress, the ensemble’s main concert venue.
The various stylistic elements of philosophy, the arts, folklore, and the ages should not only have a superficial effect on our performance, but they should also refine our taste and form our personality.
The “Ensemble Akadmie der Klassik Salzburg”, the „Salzburg Mozart Ensemble,“ and the “Mozart Kammerorchester Salzburg” have chosen to place their focus on Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The orchestra’s repertoire includes music ranging from the Baroque era via the First Viennese School to the Romantic period with Johannes Brahms, Antonín Dvořák, and the Viennese master Johann Strauß.
Frequent rehearsal, study of the source, and concert recordings characterize the familiar sound of the internationally renowned ensemble.
The instrumentation can take the form of a string quartet or a chamber orchestra with guest soloists.
